The puppies growth in our home

Under the puppies first 3 weeks in life they live upstairs in a room beside our bedroom. Partly because I want to hear if there is something with the puppies in the night, but also most important because both mother and puppies will have a calm and relaxed time without the other dogs and the world around in the beginning. This first weeks it is only the family members that is around the puppies, to minimize the risk for infectious matter, and give mother and children such a good and calm beginning as possible. A bitch that is safe and social transmit that on her puppies.

When the puppies are 3 weeks they move downstairs, were it happens a lot more with 3 children in the house. On the night and sometimes under the day, the puppies is in a room next to the livingroom, were they can see and hear what happens in the house but not is in the mittle of it the entire time. It is important especially for a toller to early get used to that it can´t always be in the mittle of the events. It is hard for many dogs to be passive, so that they learn to accept that is useful for them. The biggest part of the day the puppies are together with the family and our other dogs in our daily life. They naturally get used to the sound from the vacuum cleaner and the washing machine and noisy computergames. It is really an access as a breeder to have children, the puppies will be used to noise and will be socialized without any efforts...

The puppies are out in our garden as much as the weather allows, they often got their food outside and it become natural for them to relieve oneself outside. To climb at heap of boards and stones and to run around and discover the world is exciting for puppies. I think it ´s very important for puppies to early move freely outside, to strengthen muscles and joints and train the bodys ability. We train the puppies to come when we call from early age. I am convinced about that a puppy that early learns to use its brain have easier to learn new things even later in life. The tollerpuppies will also try to carry game. Before the puppies goes to their new homes they have been going by car several times. We take them on trips to the forrest and if the weather allows to the lake.

To sit in the lap infront of the tv is also something that our puppies will be used to, sometimes either they want or not... Some of them loves to lay in the lap and cuddle, while others have to much run in their legs to be able to be still any longer time. I want that my puppies early in life learns that if I say that they should be still with me, then they have to be still. Of course  that adapts after every pups maturity and manner, for some pups it is a real good performance to be still in 5 seconds! Again it´s very good to have a big family and be able to share the puppies between us. I think that every puppy have  the right to have OWN time EVERY day together with people for training and cuddle. So my fantastic family deserve a big thank you for that they despite varying doginterest wholehearted engage in the puppies growth and gives our puppies basic condition to be nice and social dogs.

At the age of 8 weeks the puppies new owners take over, but I wan´t to have continued contact with my puppybuers! The ones that lives near by I can meet regulary and train together with, and with the ones that lives longer away I want to have telephone and mail contact. I absolutely don´t know everything about dogs and dogtraining, but when there is something that I don´t know myself I try to find out about it, to help my puppybuyers making their puppies to good adults. It can be hard to settle what depands on heredity and what depands on environment, but through combine good heredity, good environment and good puppybuyers, I hope to breed as good dogs as possible!
